Creating my model

I knew at this point exactly what i wanted to show. I wanted a model that can be read in as much or as little detail as possible. The idea was that you could glance at the model and have a fair idea of the main themes of the story. Or you could pull out sections to get more detail.

I decided to do a 'dolls house setup' in a half-moon shape. I intended to have 'windows' with scenes set up but i soon realised that this was too ambitious with the size of the model and the level of detail that it would require.

I took into consideration the translation of the model into the virtual world, and realised that any additional features could be added later such as the moving image, sounds and a higher level of detail overall.

The model has critical images and words from the book pasted onto the outside of it in chronoligical order (front to back). It also has small 'slices' which you can pull out for additional detail which have critical storyline information and images on them. I felt that my model sucessfully illustrated what i intended to do, but unfortunately due to the size it meant i was limited by how much information i could cram into it.

I made the model from scrap cardboard and made a PVC mixture out of white glue, which i watered down. I used brown paper to cover the model to create a blank canvas.
